This simple itinerary is focused in helping you relax by thoroughly getting to know a single island instead of moving around trying to cram as much as possible during your short stay in Greece. After an almost mandatory visit to the Acropolis and the other prominent sites of Athens, you will proceed to Milos, a volcanic island in the Cycladic complex that features one of the most unique sights in all of Greece. We are of course referring to Sarakiniko, an incredible beach of white rock which will make you feel you travelled to another planet and not just to the heart of the Aegean Sea.
Milos’ proud maritime tradition is evident to this day due to its fishing villages of Klima, Mandrakia and Fourkovouni. These beautiful locations features special houses called syrmata, colorful two-story lodges for fishermen. What makes them special is that the ground floor opens right on the sea for fishing boats to be stored during harsh weather. Today these villages are some of the most visited spots on the island. It goes without saying that being on a Greek island, swimming is a must and Milos won’t disappoint as Firiplaka, Tsigrado and Agkali are just a few of the dozens of wonderful beaches you can visit for a dip in the Aegean!
Why not enhance your trip by adding Santorini, Sifnos or Naxos?
