Athens - Sifnos - Milos

Duration: 10 days / 9 nights
Destinations:
Tsigrado beach with turquoise waters against imposing golden rocks, Milos island

If you are out and about looking for a relaxing Greek vacation, far from the swarming crowds, then look no further! Steer clear of the ordinary choices and instead visit top alternative destinations like Milos and Sifnos. You will get a taste of the capital when you arrive, but before we let you stroll down the streets of Plaka and discover traditional Athenian taverns, elegant art galleries and lounge bars, we will take you on a half day city tour which will include the Acropolis Museum. Soak up the urban spirit of contemporary Athens but don't get too comfortable as your real adventure is about to begin!

Sifnos is an island deeply steeped in Cycladic tradition, with numerous whitewashed chapels, monasteries and a lovely panoramic sea view. The sandy beaches spreading as far as the eye can see, unspoiled by mass tourism, will captivate you. Small fishing villages and taverns offering home-cooked local delicacies are present throughout the island and will give you an incentive to take advantage of the hiking trails and become one with nature. From that little slice of heaven you will move on to Milos, a historically artistic island and home to works of art such as the statue of Asclepius and Venus de Milo. Volcanic activity in ancient years endowed the island with an exciting variety of gorgeous landscapes, consequently offering a wide range of activities, from exploring the island via jeep or hiking, to sailing around its coastline and everything in between. If you are of the opinion that an ideal vacation is one where your worries melt away in the serenity of nature, then don't think twice and book today!

  • Days 4 & 5 - Sifnos
For the next two days you can craft your own itinerary and explore Sifnos the way that suits you best.  It may be tempting to not want to leave the capital of Apollonia, but exploring the villages spread around the island can be rewarding. Kastro village in particular, features a 14th century castle and offers a magnificent panoramic view of Sifnos. Hiking trails exist all around the island and they can often lead to beautiful beaches like Platys Gyalos, Vathi, Chrissopigi, Faros and Apokoftos. Last but not least, once in Sifnos, you just have to sample as much of the local cuisine as you can get your hands on! Mastelo, Manoura, Revythada, Melopita and Amygdalota are just a few of the many delicacies that call Sifnos their home and are hard to find anywhere else in Greece! If you wish to see all of Sifnos in a more organized manner, you may want to look into the private "Sifnos in a Day" Tour!

On board the ferry, bid adieu to Sifnos and the driver that dropped you off from your hotel and sail the Aegean to the island of Milos. Once again, our local collaborator will transfer you to your selected hotel. Start exploring the birthplace of such great artworks as Venus de Milo and Asclepius of Milos and find your own inspiration in the awe-inspiring landscape of the volcanic island.

  • Days 7 & 8 - Milos
One of the most favored island destinations in all of Greece, Milos’ main attraction is its coastline, which is populated by uniquely shaped beaches. Nature has sculpted the soft volcanic rock by hitting it with strong winds and waves, creating landscape that seems almost extraterrestrial. There is no place where this is more apparent than the beach of Sarakiniko. Milos features beautiful villages, quaint fish taverns and traditional shops for souvenir shopping, but it also has an advantage over most Aegean islands in its proximity to two smaller but equally beautiful destinations; Kimolos and Polyaigos. Day trips to these unspoiled small islands from Milos are available frequently unlike the chance to visit such niche destinations!
    Overnight: Milos
    Meals: 2 Breakfasts

  • Day 9 - Return to Athens
In the morning you will be driven to the port to hop on the ferry back to Athens. There, your driver will be waiting to take you to your hotel. It is your last night in Greece, so be sure to pick up some souvenirs for your loved ones in the Monastiraki flea market.
    Overnight: Athens
    Meals: Breakfast

  • Day 10 - Departure from Athens
With a suitcase full of unforgettable memories, you will meet our assistant at your hotel and transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
