Package rate per person in double room during low season From 2640

This is a package specifically designed for travelers who wish to spend a significant amount of time exploring diverse Aegean destinations. Your journey begins in Athens, the cradle of western civilization, where the ancient world still lingers on every corner of this modern European metropolis. As you walk through the streets of the city you will marvel at the ever-present monuments of eras long gone but no forgotten. Among them a multitude of modern bars and restaurants provide constant opportunities for refreshment and culinary experimentation. In the half day city tour you will visit some of the most important monuments of ancient Athens before given the chance to explore on your own. First stop on your Aegean adventure is the island of Naxos, a beacon of every aspect of Cycladic tradition. The true spirit of Cyclades comes alive on the small villages of the island, with locals still in traditional dress and delicacies the rest of Greece seems to have forgotten. Take the hiking trails to reach remote chapels and isolated beaches and have an authentic Naxian experience. Next up is the majestic Santorini, a staple of the Aegean islands. Golden sunsets, fine wine, towns perched on steep cliffs and a dormant volcano filled with water that has turned to a caldera, barely scratch the surface of Santorini.

Another stop on this can't-miss experience, is Crete, with 3 days to explore the vast Mediterranean island as you please. Establish your base at Heraklion and start daily excursions to Agios Nikolaos, Chania and Rethymno. Try every Cretan delicacy you can get your hands on, drink raki and enjoy the warm local hospitality. Before you return to Athens, you will spend 3 days in the medieval setting of Rhodes, home to one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The Colossus may be gone, but the island contains many other sights including the Medieval City, the Palace of the Grand Masters, mosques, UNESCO monuments, Hellenistic ruins, ancient temples, Byzantine churches and Turkish baths. How can you say no to a trip like that?

  • Day 2 - Athens Half Day Sightseeing Tour
In the morning you will participate in what has come to be known as the most succinct way to see every major monument in Athens, the half-day sightseeing tour, which includes the National Library, Hadrian’s Arch and the Temple of Olympian Zeus among others. The highlight of this carefully planned tour is without a doubt the visit to the Acropolis, Athens’ signature landmark and the New Acropolis Museum, which features more than 4,000 exhibits from antiquity. Continue your exploration of the city in the afternoon and perhaps get some shopping done in Ermou street.
    Overnight: Athens
    Meals: Breakfast

  • Day 3 - Arrival in Naxos
A transfer from your hotel to the port by your driver is on the schedule for this morning. You will reach the port and board the ferry to Naxos. As you approach the Cycladic island be sure to keep an eye out for Portara, the gate to the ancient Temple of Apollo, which still stands and adorns the Naxian coast. On arrival you have a transfer to your selected hotel by our local collaborator.
    Overnight: Naxos
    Meals: Breakfast

  • Day 4 - Explore Naxos
One of the characteristics of Naxos that sets it apart from most Aegean islands is Mount Zas. The tallest point in the Cyclades, Zas gives Naxos a more wild aesthetic appeal as well as the opportunity for hiking and panoramic views that stretch for miles. Biking and kitesurfing (mostly in Mikri Viglia) are also big on the island for those interested in physical exercise, but if you just want to take it easy and laze in the beach, then Agios Prokopios, Agia Anna and Limanakia won’t be hard to find. Alyko is another beautiful beach laid with white sand that is very close to a cedar forest and although it is a bit further than the rest, it is well-worth the trip to the southwest edge of Naxos.
    Overnight: Naxos
    Meals: Breakfast

  • Day 5 - Arrival in Santorini
Transfer from your hotel to the port to reach Santorini via ferry. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel by our local collaborator. We recommend spending the rest of the day exploring Fira and its local cuisine. As the sun sets, find some high ground and watch the phantasmagoria of colors fill the sky with a glass of Santorinian wine in your hands. Keep in mind that wine culture is big on the island and there are tours you can join to experience volcanic wines under the guidance of a sommelier.
    Overnight: Santorini
    Meals: Breakfast

  • Day 6 - Explore Santorini
With so many diverse and yet equally captivating sites, it's hard to choose what to see first in Santorini! The Akrotiri archaeological site is a Bronze Age settlement which features a museum full of Minoan exhibits and can provide a touch of history and culture to the idyllic setting of Santorini. Quaint villages like Oia and Imerovigli seem less influenced by the island’s popularity and retain a more traditional outlook. On the south coast, the Red Beach, Black Beach and Vlychada are a testament to Santorini’s violent volcanic past, as they are laid with pebbles of different colors that formed when scolding hot lava hit the frothing Aegean Sea. Santorini is a wonderful island with poetic beauty and how your experience in it will look like is entirely up to you!
    Overnight: Santorini
    Meals: Breakfast

  • Day 7 - Arrival in Crete (Heraklion)
In the morning you will have ample time to continue your excursions and grab some lunch at a tavern, because our local collaborator will pick you up from your hotel in the afternoon and take you to the port in order to hop on the ferry to Heraklion, the largest city in Crete. You have another transfer waiting for you to reach your hotel in the city.
    Overnight: Crete
    Meals: Breakfast

  • Day 8 - Explore Crete
An opportunity you shouldn’t miss out on while in Heraklion is visit the Palace of Knossos, home to the Minoans, arguably the earliest European civilization. Knossos has served as the cultural and economic center of the region since before the Bronze Age and the remains of the Palace still serve as a reminder of one of the first communities humankind ever constructed. The very well-preserved Throne Room is said to have been used by King Minoas himself as his private quarters. If you are looking to take a swim, Agia Pelagia is probably your best bet, while for those wanting to experience the region of East Crete, a private tour can be an eye-opening introduction to the history and culture that the island fosters.
    Overnight: Crete
    Meals: 2 Breakfasts

  • Day 9 - Arrival in Rhodes
After breakfast, you will meet your personal driver and be dropped off at the Heraklion airport to catch a flight to Rhodes. Our local collaborator will be expecting you and you will be escorted to your hotel to take a load off, before you begin your exploration of the main town.
    Overnight: Rhodes
    Meals: Breakfast

  • Day 10 - Explore Rhodes
From the Medieval City to the Rodini Park, Rhodes is a cornucopia of diverse sights due to its complex history. Hellenism meets the Roman and Ottoman Empires, with a sprinkle of the Templar Knights to complete the civilization bingo and create this unique mosaic that is Rhodes. For a more modern experience of the city, Elli beach and the Aquarium are just a few ways to go about crafting your own experience in the island. The Acropolis of Lindos might be far from the capital, but a visit there will be highly rewarding. If you choose to stay in the main town, the medieval part of the city is a UNESCO World Heritage site and features –among others- iconic landmarks like the Palace of the Grand Master, the Street of Knights, the Suleymaniye Mosque and Clock Tower.
