If you feel like visiting a place is not enough and you need to take some time to experience and understand its rhythm, then we wholeheartedly agree. This island hopping adventure takes a different approach than most, affording you ample time to get to know more than just the touristic highlights of Naxos and Crete, spending extra days on those islands in order to explore them in depth.

Your journey will start in Athens, where you will have a chance to see the highlights of the historic city with a half-day tour which includes the Acropolis and its museum and that will give you more time to explore the rest of the city on your own. Cozy bars, elegant galleries and traditional taverns can be found everywhere in Athens and each one contributes to the unique blend of tradition and modern comfort that is the capital of Greece.

Leaving Athens behind, you will get a taste of the Cyclades by visiting Naxos, a beautiful place in the heart of the islandic complex, known for its cuisine throughout the country. Any culinary exploration will begin with simple farm-to-table products such as potatoes, cheese and meats which are combines in exquisite ways to create delightful dishes such as rosto, kalogeros and patoudo. However, Naxos is more than just its food. While its coast is surrounded by beautiful beaches that will serve as ideal spots to laze in the sun, Naxian inland is populated by many villages that are home to ancient ruins, old churches, stone towers, artistic workshops and man more! Thankfully you will have enough time to explore all of that on your own pace.

From Naxos you will move on the Crete, one of the largest islands in the Mediterranean Sea. The picturesque town of Chania will be your headquarters from which you will launch various expeditions around West Crete! Around that region you will find exquisite natural sites such as the pink beach of Elafonisi, the gorge of Samaria and the Balos lagoon. Inland you will find caves, fortresses, monasteries and traditional villages each of which can justify hours of exploration in its own right!

  • Day 1 – Arrival in Athens
    Welcome to Athens! As you prepare for your adventure around Greece, our representative will pick you up at the Athens International Airport to assist you with your plans and transport you to your hotel. Take your time acclimating to the metropolis that is Athens and spend your first evening exploring the center of this vibrant city!

  • Day 2 – Athens Half Day Sightseeing Tour
    Today you will join the half day Athens sightseeing tour, one of the best ways to get a condensed version of Athens' rich history in just a few hours! From the Constitution Square all the way to the Acropolis and its museum packed with exhibits, this tour will serve as a great introduction to the history of Athens and prompt you to explore more on your own after its conclusion! The afternoon is at your disposal to experience Athens before you begin your islandic adventure!

  • Day 3 – Arrival in Naxos
    Say goodbye to Athens and join our representative who will guide you to the port of Piraeus to board a ferry to Naxos and begin the islandic leg of your adventure! Once you reach Naxos in the heart of the Cyclades, our local collaborator will be expecting you to transport you to your selected hotel. There is no better way to end the day than with a glass of Naxian wine in your hand watch the sun dip into the blue Aegean Sea!

  • Days 4, 5 & 6 – Explore Naxos
    You will have three days at your disposal to explore the customs and traditions of Naxos by visiting its many villages! Whether you wish to do it on your own or opt for a private tour, it is bound to be an eye-opening experience. Mix in with the locals, have coffee at a kafeneio, enjoy lunch at a traditional tavern and visit small, but important sites tied to the history of each village, such as distilleries and olive presses. We highly recommend that you spend a day beach hopping as Naxos have some of the most beautiful beaches in the Aegean with Agia Anna, Mikri Viglia, Alyko, Plaka and Agios Prokopios being the most popular ones. Last but not least, explore Chora, the main town in Naxos, and its old town which is full of small shops and galleries by local artists. You can also combine a guided tour of the old town with a side taste of Kitron, Naxos' traditional liqueur.

  • Day 7 – Arrival in Crete
    The ferry will dock on the city of Heraklion in the east side of the island and our local representative will be there to pick you up. You will then embark on a beautiful ride across the island, traversing Crete from east to west, in order to reach Chania, the picturesque town that will serve as your hub for the next three days!

  • Days 8, 9 & 10 – Explore West Crete
    Three days may seem a lot but with so many places to visit and things to do, chances are they won’t feel enough! West Crete is a magical place full of idyllic landscapes. The gorge of Samaria, the Balos lagoon and the pink beach in Elafonisi stand out among the many wondrous spots on the island. Alternatively, you may want to head inland and explore traditional Cretan villages with a private tour.

  • Day 10 – Return to Athens
    Our local collaborator will meet with you in the morning and drive you to the airport in Chania in order to board a short flight back to Athens. Once there, you can expect yet another personal ride to your Athenian accommodation. Make the most of your last night in Greece by strolling down the streets of Plaka and finding a cozy tavern for a traditional dinner!

  • Day 11 – Departure from Athens
