Our tour kicks off with – what else? – the sacred Hill of Acropolis and the very famous Acropolis Museum. Always with our expert tour guide by your side, you will find out everything about the monumental buildings of Acropolis, including the godly Parthenon, and you will have the chance to admire the exhibits of the Acropolis Museum through an educational walk.
Your Ancient-Athens wanderings won’t stop in just the Acropolis Hill though. You will discover the Roman Agora and the myth behind the Tower of Winds, as well as many other ancient buildings like the Library of Hadrian and the Temple of Olympian Zeus. Dip your toes in the eighteenth and nineteenth-century Athens, rambling around Syntagma Square, the most popular meeting point in the city. Turn your eyes towards the Panathenaic Stadium, where the 1st modern Olympic Games took place and continue your exploration with other emblematic buildings of Athens neoclassical architecture.
Let your lungs wide open among the hundreds of plant species in the National Gardens and walk through Plaka - the “island” in the heart of the city of Athens – the multi-colored Monastiraki and the Athens Central Market (Varvakios Agora) filled with smells of herbs and local food.
Our walk will come to an end in front of the Lycicrates monument in Plaka, in a very close distance to the Acropolis Metro Station. By the time we say goodbye, you’ll have seen the best of Athens in a walk that includes everything; history, architecture, ancient & modern city life.
