Watch the “Evzones” outside the Greek Parliament building and take a look around the historic area of Syntagma Square. Wander around the flagstone pathways of the island-like area of Plaka to discover some hidden gems – iconic cafes and small shops.
Discover a roman house underneath our feet and listen to peculiar stories from Greek Mythology, while you walk by ancient monuments like the Roman Market and Hadrian’s Library. Find out about the hidden alley that famous Greek festivities – Panathenaia – used to take place to honor goddess Athena and stroll around the most beautiful buildings of the city.
Our walk will lead you towards the buzzing Monastiraki, where you will check out the popular flea market full of multi-colored shops. We will finish up our Athens walking tour in the alternative and colored-by-street-art area of Psirri and you will be incited to make an important choice: Greek pastry of Greek food and wine?
