If you are looking for a vacation in Greece with a good balance between tradition and modern amenities, sprinkled with a hearty pinch of history, then look no further! Begin your vacation in Athens, a modern European capital that offers a link to antiquity in every nook and cranny. Museums, galleries, sculptures and ancient ruins coexist effortlessly in the same setting as modern bars and luxurious restaurants.

In the crescent-shaped island of Santorini, you will witness the awe-inspiring power of nature, as the –now submerged- volcano of Thira has created uniquely colored beaches laid with monochromatic pebbles that formed when hot lava spilled in the Aegean Sea. The result; the rare sight of Red Beach, Black Beach and Vlychada. As if that wasn’t enough, Santorini’s geology gives rise to a gorgeous sunset, during which the sky fills with a hue of gold as the sun dives in the azure waters.

Later on you will find yourself in Crete, home of the famous Minoan civilization which has left behind the still-standing palace of Knossos, near Heraklion. Moving West, magnificent sites like the picturesque town of Chania, the tiny island of Spinalonga that served as a leper colony, the Samaria Gorge, Elafonisi, Gramvousa and Preveli  create a cornucopia of interested places to visit and fill your days on Crete. The warm hospitality of the locals, combined with traditional Cretan delicacies should make this trip a complete experience which you won't stop talking about.

Why not enrich this experience by adding a trip to the quaint island of Naxos or the medieval island of Rhodes?
